🔹 The Challenge: Creating an Entertainer’s Dream Without Major Renovations
The Kalinga pool and bespoke pool house were born out of a desire to create a dedicated entertaining space. The owners wanted to introduce a space for entertaining without the need for extensive renovations to the existing house, which was already compromised. The solution? A pool house that would not only enhance the outdoor living experience but also avoid major disruptions to the existing structure.

The vision for the pool house was clear: to design a versatile and functional space that could be used year-round. This meant a design that allowed for cooling breezes in summer and warmth in winter.

✔ Summer Design – The pool house features sliding doors and external shutters at either end, capturing the best of the bay breezes and cross ventilation, ensuring the space stays cool during hot summer months.
✔ Winter Comfort – In winter, the space can be sealed up, with a functional fireplace that keeps the space warm and inviting, perfect for cosy gatherings.
✔ Site Constraints – Built on a restricted sloping site, the pool and pool house had to be carefully designed to make the best use of the available space while accommodating the unique site conditions.
